NELSON ROAD RESIDENCE, Colrain, Massachusetts
Energy efficiency and sustainable design are the focus of this 2,042 square foot, three bedroom home. Starting with the local farmhouse vernacular, the house is positioned for maximum sunlight and solar exposure. 12” exterior walls are filled with cellulose and clad in fiber cement lap siding. Part full basement and part radiant heated slab on grade, the house will be heated with wood cut from the owners property.
