SHINGLE STYLE RESIDENCE, Central Massachusetts
Eastern white cedar shingles were used to wrap the exterior of this home and carriage house for a large family in central Massachusetts. Natural colors, gambrel roofs, classical columns and informal shapes suggest the shingle style homes of early New England. A wide, shady porch encourages lazy afternoons in rocking chairs or evenings by the outdoor fireplace.
